Selfup runs hands-on cooking classes in its own commercial kitchen at 19 Kingston Street in Downtown Boston, a short walk from South Station. Each class opens with a 15-minute reception. Then you cook a full menu with a chef and sit down to eat it together, with no cleanup. Selfup also has venues in New York and Washington, DC.
Three chefs teach most of the Boston classes. Gary Gianchetti leads the Italian nights, including the weekend bestseller Italian Dinner with Tiramisu Finale and a Romantic Italian Date Night. Ed Kelly covers sushi, Homemade Dumplings 101 and a Mexican Fiesta Dinner. Dana Love teaches the Sunday morning Brunch in a Crunch and a French Steakhouse Dinner.
Public classes work for couples, friends and solo guests, and you don't need any experience. Companies can book the kitchen privately for team building, including a Mystery Basket Team Clash competition. Wine and beer are sold on site, and you can't bring your own drinks. Guests rate it 4.9 stars from 868 Google reviews.
