Eataly Chicago's regional Italian cooking school, from pasta to mozzarella to wine dinners
La Scuola is the teaching arm of the Eataly store in Streeterville. The classes follow regional Italian cooking, led by the store's resident chefs, and each dish comes with a beverage pairing chosen by Eataly's experts.
The calendar is busy. Hands-on classes make one thing well, such as gnocchi al pomodoro, ravioli and filled pastas, pizza alla pala, focaccia, tiramisù, arancini or mozzarella and burrata. Demo & Dine sessions have the chef cook while you eat. Flash Classes are shorter, and Pasta Shaping Express Workshops are a quick way into pasta.
The school also runs Sip & Savor wine and cheese tastings, guided cheese tastings and special wine dinners, such as a Piedmont dinner built around Fontanafredda wines. Kid's Kitchen and Family Fun sessions bring in children for pasta and cannoli. Most classes are listed for adults.
