Old City Kitchen runs chef's table cooking classes at 218 Market Street in Philadelphia's Old City. You sit on barstools and drink complimentary wine through the night. Owner Laura Eaton wants the room to feel easy and inclusive, and solo guests are openly welcome. Most classes are hands-on. Pasta and pizza nights usually start with you mixing a dough to take home.
Pasta is the core of the schedule, with three-pasta, three-sauce nights and a Pasta Making Basics class. Guests also mention Asian dumplings, Thai, Mediterranean, soft pretzels, bagels, focaccia and knife skills. Chefs they name include Justin O'Hanlon, Jeremy Smith of Greenbeard Spices, and Mike. New classes are added every two weeks.
Companies and party groups book the private rooms for team building. Menus include a Historic Philadelphia Experience with pepper pot soup, hand-made pretzels, cheesesteak sliders and a Clover Club cocktail. The school holds a 5 rating on Google from 428 reviews.
