Team building with a chef running the room
The Real Food Academy is a cooking school at 570 NE 81st St in Miami. Head Chef Maria Cummins founded it in 2008. She grew up with the flavors of Venezuela, and her rule is "We don’t change the dish, we change the ingredients." Classes teach familiar food made with better oils, natural sweeteners and unprocessed ingredients.
The calendar has two main tracks. Most adult classes run on Thursday evenings from 7 to 10 pm. Menus include All About Pasta Making (cacio e pepe or ravioli), Sushi Making, Korean Feast and Spanish Tapas. Saturday morning sessions run 9:45 to 11:30 with themes such as Tortellini Pasta & Soup and Healthy Sweets. Children cook on their own while parents wait in the cafe. Reviewers name Chef Toni for sushi and team events and Chef Paolo for pasta night.
A large share of the business is groups: birthday parties, corporate team building, school field trips and holiday camps. The school holds a 5.0 Google rating from 1,219 reviews. All payments are non-refundable.
