Cooking with Cass is a small event kitchen at 3617 N Broadway in Lakeview, run by owner Cassie Crist, a former CPA. The cooking is hands-on, but the point is the night out. Public events pair a menu with entertainment such as comedy, karaoke and drag shows.
Recent listings include a Gnocchi & Cannoli class and a Sushi Making Class with Chef Janet at $65, a Half Acre beer tasting with handmade pretzels at $85, and Karaoke Drag Show & Gourmet Tacos. Holiday classes run at $125. Many are about three hours and some are BYOB.
There are two monthly social clubs. The Culinary Connection Club is a themed chef-led dinner, and Wine Down Wednesday is a wine tasting on the second Wednesday of each month. Private events cover birthdays, bachelorette parties and team-building.
