Oak Park kids' and teens' cooking school with after-school classes and break camps
This Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio location is on Madison Street in Oak Park. This location lists after-school classes: Treats & Eats on Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30pm, and a teen series for ages 12 and up on Fridays, which alternates savory cooking one week and baking the next. When school is out, the kitchen runs day-off camps plus winter, spring and summer camps for ages 5 to 11, with tween camps in winter and summer. Winter Break Cook + Create Camp runs December 21 to 23 and 28 to 31. Campers cook lunch in the morning and make a dessert in the afternoon, with menus like pizza and whoopie pies or minestrone and gingerbread donuts. Games and crafts fill the gaps.
