Non-credit home cook classes taught by chef instructors at a culinary school
Escoffier Austin runs a culinary school, and its enthusiast classes open the same kitchens to home cooks. The classes are non-credit. Each one is led by a professional Escoffier Chef Instructor.
Austin topics include bread basics, plant-based principles, fundamental cooking techniques and southern comfort food. The current calendar leans global: Chinese Cuisine: Flavors of the Wok, Foods of Greece, Spanish Tapas, Taste of Spain, Classic German Sweets and Taste of Thailand. Each of those costs $75 a person.
Escoffier says the classes suit a serious home cook or a complete beginner. The Austin campus has professional-grade kitchens, learning kitchens, a smoker and a student-run Agricultural Learning Center. If you do not live near Austin, the same enthusiast program offers classes online, and a Boulder, Colorado campus runs its own in-person classes.
